Windows 10: A required device isn’t connected or can’t be accessed

This is going to be a weird one but here it goes;

I have two drives, an SSD and a HDD. My Windows 10 was installed on my SSD but was on version 1803, which prevented me from updating to 20H2.

I contacted Microsoft support to help me upgrade to 20H2 using a flash drive to create the required installation media. My mistake was that I installed Windows on the wrong drive (HDD) and I resulted in a outdated Windows (1803) on my SSD and an updated but inactivated Windows 10 on my HDD (20H2).

I then decided just to wipe the 1803 SSD copy completely and update it that way. I did this with my HDD unplugged so that I wouldn’t be confused and install Windows on the wrong partition again.

And then it worked! My windows 1803 on my SSD was now 20H2. But then after plugging in my external hard drive (20H2), I found that Windows would no longer boot from my SSD. It provides the error “0x0000225” “A required device isn’t connected or can’t be accessed”. I then have to boot the HDD.

When unplugging the HDD again, all is fine.

Does anyone know what step in the process might have caused this issue?

Printer isn´t working after latest update.

After the latest update from Windows, my Canon Pixma ip6600 printer isnt working. In Device Manager it shows up as working properly but when I go to print it isn´t listed as an option in any programs. Troubleshoot suggests it´s a USB 2 printer on a USB
3 port and that that´s the problem but that cant be since it worked fine before the update. I´ve tried to uninstall and plug it back in but that doesn´t work either.

 

Cortana isn´t working

When I hit enter, it did something, but there´s still no Cortana, even after restart. So I tried it again, but now it says that it failed, because it´s already installed and it´s working in PC. So it should work, but Cortana still isn´t here.

Unfortunately, the were of no help.



The phone isn`t listed in device manager, the list of devices doesn`t change if I have my phone connected to my computer(s). There are no mystery devices, no yellow triangle -markings or anything even remotely pointing to the direction the phone being connected.

It could be that my phone has a broken usb port, but it makes me wonder that it still charges the battery when connected to a computer.



This is not a big problem for me, that I must admit, but still, it kinda bugs me that the phone doesn`t work the way it`s supposed to work,



Anyways, if somebody comes up with something that might help, I am most grateful.

edit: Also, I have my laptop almost always connected to charger. Tried without charger just for the heck of it, didn`t help.
