unable to reset your pc a required drive partition is missing

    Hi Ahmed,

The "unable to reset your PC a required drive partition is missing" error usually occurs when the MBR or BCD record is corrupted. Basically, rebuilding the boot record will resolve the issue.

In the meantime, we suggest running a Check Disk to scan and repair all bad sectors of the hard drive.

We'll be waiting for the result.

  3. unable to reset your pc a required drive partition is missing

    Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satelite laptop that comes with a windows 8.1 installed, upgrade it to windows 10..

couple of days ago after a regular automated update I received blue screen with error code: 0x0000098.

then I tried to do a system restore, system repair, auto repair, and all the tricks but nothing worked...

then followed the steps you guys recommended and created installation media for windows 10 on a flash memory and created the steps advised by you on the following link:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...ed-drive/b342c634-47d5-469a-92da-089912a9d5f3

still receiving the same errors and nothing worked..

also, tried to rebuild the boot record from command prompt via windows repair mood, and it keep giving me error codes and again "unable to reset your pc a required drive partition is missing"

    please help!!

Unable to reset your PC. A required drive partition is missing

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused with Windows 10.

"i tried to reset my Asus X75VC ", did you follow the steps in the "Reset your PC" section in the below link?

    Recovery options in Windows

When exactly do you get this error message "Unable to reset your PC. A required drive partition is missing"?

Are you able to boot to the desktop screen?

If you are not able to get to the desktop screen, I suggest you to run Startup repair from Advance boot option.

It may ask you to insert the Installation DVD/USB while doing startup repair.

If you don’t have an installation media, you have to create an installation media for that.

You may download an ISO from the below link:

    Download Windows 10

Once your media is ready follow the steps.

    • After you boot your computer using Windows 10 CD/ DVD or System Repair Disc, a black screen appears with gray text "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press any key.

    • Select the correct time and Keyboard type.

    • Click on Repair your computer in the lower left corner.

    • Select Troubleshoot from Choose an option screen.

    • Click on Advanced options in Troubleshoot screen.

    • Click on Automatic Repair from Advanced Options screen.

    • Next, choose the operating system by clicking on its button.

    • Windows 10 will look for problems on hard drive(s) and verify that all required files are intact.
Hope the information helps. Do reply if you need further assistance.

    Thank you.
