Windows 10: A USB hub will not function when it's connected more than 5 hubs away from the root port

I tried connecting a spectrometer through virtual herea software which conects the usb devices over the wifi. but it always gave me this error.I have also attahced a screenshot regarding please help me to solve this issues.Thank you

Hi,

Incompatible USB hub driver is one of the possible reasons why this issue is happening. We recommend uninstalling the USB Root Hub driver and see if it helps. Follow the stepes below:

• Open Device Manager.
  
• Double-click Universal Serial Bus controllers to expand.
  
• Right-click USB Root Hub, then click Properties.
  
• Go to the Driver tab.
  
• Click Uninstall.
  
• Restart your computer.
  

Note: Restarting your computer will automatically reinstall a generic driver for your computer. Also, we suggest connecting your USB hub while performing the steps.

If the issue still persists, let's disable the USB selective suspend settings thru Power Options to resolve the issue. Follow the steps below:

• Type Power Options in the search box, then press Enter.
• Locate USB settings > USB selective suspend settings.
• Select Disable.

USB root hub is not longer there

I followed this to fix my USB ports cause my laptop wasn't letting me use my USB flash drives.

The thing I thing I followed:

USB devices may stop functioning correctly when multiple devices connected to the same USB hub go into selective suspend - Microsoft Support.

Now, I don't have my USB root hubs anymore. It restarted my laptop multiple times and nothing. Not only that it but it may have affected my camera that's in the laptop.

I looked for help for my USB ports before trying to uninstall it, because everyone says it will reinstall after the restart!

i actually use a similar USB 3.0 hub purely as a charger for my portable devices.

its only a 5 port, but those 5 ports can all do 500ma/900ma/1.5a depending on the device.



Also, USB 2.0 storage devices tend to run faster on 3.0 hubs/ports. worth noting.
