    A Win10 update that caused a bootloop/rebootloop, now I can't even boot from DVD.

This is gonna be a bit lengthy but I hope someone can help, I'm desperate now.
I'll talk about my problem in chronological order as detailed as I can.

At first, and apparently, a failed update had caused Windows10 to enter an infinite bootloop ( gets to the windows loading screen, stays like that for about 15 min > black screen > reboot)

Tried reverting to the previous version or do a startup repair from the troublshooting menu ( by interrupting a boot 3 times in a row ) but it always gave an error and never did anything.

I prepared a Win10 installation DVD to try and repair my system via command prompt, as I read it may be sth with the boot files.

It boots and says that I appear to have booted while an update was ongoing and asks to remove the DVD and restart if I want to continue it ( which is the problem in the first place ) so I go on as a clean installation and click repair my PC and so on until I got to the command prompt.

went and tried Bootrec /fixmbr and it was successful,

however Bootrec /fixboot gave me an "Access Denied" error.

I read that I can fix this acces denied error by creating a new efi boot directory,
which I did but didn't work.

My last try, and the most stupid one I guess, was that I decided to try and do the fixmbr and fixboot commands from my HDD win10 ( which gave the same results as well ).

because after that my bios no longer asks me to press anykey to boot from CD/DVD despite the boot priority being given to my DVD Driver ( the dash blinks a few times and moves a bit then, it boots directly to my HDD which doesn't boot in the first place ).

My UEFI BIOS settings seem normal and I can access it normally but the time my pc needs to reach the windows loading screen somehow seems shorter than before.

And I forgot to mention that the Bootrec /rebuildbcd and /scanos said that I have 0 windows installations on my HDD.

Is it possible that this is happening because the DVD build is different than my HDD build ?

I'll try and make a bootable USB when I can and

try to see if the same happens.

It's also wirth mentioning that whenever I try to uninstall the latest updates, I get to choose from 2 operating systems, one is Win10 ( and when I choose it I get a message that it's another version and i can't do it ) and the other system doesn't have a name and is probably residual files from and older system ( but it doesn't give the same error ).

I understand that I may have done a lot of mistakes with this, but idk how to revert them back and a fresh installation is a last resort for me (let alone I can't even boot from DVD now)

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

    When in win10:
    • Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....
Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
    - Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

    Can't boot from DVD drive

Is your controller in RAID/AHCI modes? If so, the DVD drive will be listed as a separate device in the list of available boot devices, not as "CDROM". Remember that when setting boot device priority. Otherwise, read the manual to see which hotkey during POST brings up the boot menu that lets you select which device to boot from. Even here, the drive will be listed separately, and not as "CDROM".

    Windows 8 update causing bootloops

Keep getting a BSOD with one of the 96 updates I install. I installed a new copy of Windows 8 and it wouldn't let me update to W8.1 until I download all the updates and when I do it doesn't boot anymore just loops between trying to troubleshoot and find the problem. I fixed it by booting in safe mode but when I get back into normal mode all my desktop is blank. Files are still there in Program Files though...

anyone know a way of installing Windows 8.1 without doing the updates first and then downloading through the Windows Store?

I apologise if this has already been posted, I googled and I found this so I'm thinking it's the same problem
