    A Windoows 7 Firefox will not open local files.


    My venerable Toshiba Satellite L505 that runs both Windows XP and Windows 7 was awakened, to Windows 7, from an overnight rest. It displayed a new 'sign' that displayed the name of a program that was going to open and offered the option of saving it to Downloads or discarding it. the 'sign' also has a top right X that closes the 'sign'. None of the 3 choices do anything but put file's name in Downloads. The desktop Firefox icon can be opened and, from gmail.com, opens a functioning Gmail. Firefox will also open tesktop icons that are URLs but will not open any local files.

    Simply, HOW? I got the DDS plugin but the POS wont open DDS files still. Can someone give me a step-by-step rundown of how to install the DDS plugin for gimp so I know if I'm missing something?

    Cookies are stored in the cookies.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

    You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

    • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.


    • Press Windows + R keys to open run window

    • Type Firefox to launch firefox

    If it launches, you may try to create a shortcut of it by following the steps below:


    • Windows + E keys to open Windows explorer

    • Select this pc and select C: drive

    • Open Program files and right click on firefox and click on Shortcut on desktop.
