Windows 10: A Windows 10 Pro OS license how can be used as a VM installation from external ssd

Hello,I have A Windows 10 Pro OS license OEM key, how can be used as a VM installation in VMware Workstation Pro 17.x, or VirtualBox 7.x…?In other words if the VM is being used in a host PC Windows 10 Pro, from an external SSD drive, can used or transferred to a secondary host PC or macOS Monterey host VMware Fusion 13.x…? I mean about Windows license issues…well?

Re-Activating Windows 10 On a VM On a New SSD

I recently replaced the SSD on my MackBook pro. I re-installed Windows 10 on my VM but I am unable to re-activate Windows on it. Before I replaced my SSD I deactivated the license so I could transfer it to my new VM. When I run the troubleshooter to try
and find the device linked to my Microsoft Account it cannot find it yet when I log into my account through a web browser I can see the device listed. Anyone have any tips to reactive my Windows 10 device running on a VM?

 

Windows 10 License for VM in VDI Scenario

Hello,

In a VDI on-premise scenario, what OS license should I install on the VM that the user will be accessing?

I understand that Windows VDA is required for each user for access rights, but how about the VM dedicated to each of them?

Can I just use a normal Windows 10 Pro/Enterprise to install on those VMs or I need something more special Windows 10 licenses? And do I have to license each VM?

VM Licenses

I'm using a Dell PC with a factory installed OEM version of Windows 10 Pro.

My work requires me to use program editing software from many different vendors, these software titles often don't work well and can cause issue with the PC they are installed on. My thought is to isolate them by using VMs with the software for each vendor
installed on it's own VM - isolated from my Host and the other VMs I would use for other editors.

My new PC with Win10 OEM would be the host. Only 1 VM would be used on the host at a time but there would be as many as 10 different VMs I could run on the host.

Can I copy my host OS to the VM with my OEM license?

If I can't, and I need a new license for the VMs can I use 1 license for the multiple VMs?

Is there an upgrade from OEM to FPP ?
