Windows 10: aba file opening in wordpad

I have ABA files for banking and I have opened it in wordpad and now it is set as default and now can't use it in banking app because I can't revert it back- I've unticked always open in this app and still doesn't work

Hi Fiona,

We suggest that you follow these steps to uncheck the Always open this type of file:

• Right click on an ABA file.
  
• Hover your mouse cursor on Open with and select Choose another app.
• Uncheck the Always open this type of file and click on
  OK.

Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly. I tried your suggestion but the box isn't ticked?

My problem isn't that Notepad is the preferred app for ABA files, the problem is that the ABA opens as a Notepad on my screen when I click to download it. Previously I would click "Download ABA" from my accounting software and the ABA would be sent to my
downloads bar at the bottom of my screen. I would then right click on the ABA and cut & paste it to the folder on my computer where I wanted it stored however one time when I was doing this I accidentally clicked "Always open this type of file" and so now
rather than the ABA being sent to my download bar/download folder it opens up on my screen and I have to do a lot more steps to get it to the ABA folder on my computer. I create numerous ABAs daily so it is wasting a lot of time...

WordPad issue

I like to suggest you some steps as per my last experience follow these:
Click -> Start menu -> type ‘WordPad' in the taskbar-> search and click on the result. -> open WordPad.
If you’re find difficulty to open WordPad,
the Press -> Windows + R key -> type ‘Write’ -> hit enter.
You will WordPad application launching on the
screen.
or
Navigate this path C:\windows\system32\ you will see a ‘write’ (File).
The application is here now.




or
Just run an Office repair sofwtare to check if there will be any changes on the Word pad.
