Windows 10: About a month ago my streaming of files from pc to tv abruptly began stopping at the two...

This is consistent. Is a Windows 10 update causing the stream to be aborted? I've not had this problem before. Wifi signal was always adequate from my modem. TV is Samsung Q60, which is set up to recognize the pc and its main folders in this case, the C drive "Video" folder. Message is "Please check network". I don't seem to have a problem streaming Prime or using internet on the tv so it seems to be related to file streaming rather than simple wifi connection.

Media Streaming via DLNA to a Sharp Smart Tv

1. Have you tried streaming through a different PC?
   
2. Are you trying to stream the content through an external hard drive?
   

Since you are able to connect the PC to the TV, I suggest you to copy the files to a USB and connect it to the TV to check if you are able to play the files or not.

Stream a DVD from PC to Smart TV

Thanks for your Patience.

Following are the points determined by the escalation team:

• The Windows 10 DVD Player app does not natively support media streaming by design.
• The only way the DVD can be "streamed" wirelessly to a TV is through connecting the TV as a wireless display.
• The only way this is possible is if the TV supports Miracast. If the TV is not Miracast-enabled, the user will not be able to stream DVD's.

Mira cast is a streaming protocol that lets users mirror content from their Windows PCs/Mobiles to their TV screens.

If your TV is Miracast enabled, Please follow the below steps to cast a DVD to a Miracast-compatible TV:

1. Open the Action Center by clicking on the notification icon next to the date and time in the lower right hand corner of the screen.

2. Click on the Connect tile.

3. The computer will now search for Miracast-enabled displays.

4. If a Miracast-enabled device is in range, it will show up on the list, click to connect.

5. The computer should now be casting the screen to TV.

6. Open the Windows DVD Player app and load a DVD into the disk drive.

7. The app should now auto-recognize the DVD and it should begin playing.

Cast to Device Streaming (not mirroring) video avi & mp4 files from PC to Smart TV

I'm trying to stream videos from my pc to my smart tv (not mirror). Sometimes I can play the video completely, sometimes during the video it stops (get an Error Message Cannot Play).

I have a Windows 10 PC (Build 1607) with some Video AVI & MP4 files , and a Sony Bravia 4K (XBR 49x830C) Smart TV. Also have a Wireless Display Adapter V2 connected to HDMI port 1.

I've setup a HomeGroup, and Windows Media Player for Streaming. The Choose media streaming options for computers and devices window lists; Media programs on this PC and remote connects, my 2 PCs, and XBR-49X830C. (This tells me the PC sees the Smart TV over
WIFI. I go to Settings on the Smart TV, it sees the PC.)

I then right-click the Video file on my pc, click Cast to Device, then the click XBR-49X830C. I get the XBR-49X830C Sony Corporation MediaRenderer with the video listed.

My problem is sometimes the video will play all the way to the end, other times it will stop during the movie with the error message cannot play. More times than not, the video will stop with the error message.
