  1. About 'ByteFance'

Hi, I am Suman Saha. I was trying to understand the windows defender malware protection feature. Depending on previous advice of one of my question regarding the internet security of Windows 10, I found that my 'controlled folder access feature' of windows defender was on. This was a week ago, I suddenly noticed that a program named 'ByteFence' is scanning my computer to protect it from malware. I also check my control panel and saw that it is installed already (naturally I didn't install it as I can remember). Now the problem is -

    1. As a result of auto scanning of BytrFence, there have 69 risks on my Computer(screenshot added). It offers a pro version also. Should I activate it? Should I believe the result? Actually, before few days my PC was also scanned by Windows defender and the scan report was good.

    2. When I try to check the 'virus and threat protection' segment of Windows Defender, 'your virus & thread protection is managed by your organization' -this message is shown. Clearly, the virus and threat protection are disabled.

    3. When I try to uninstall the ByteFence, I noticed that the product is authenticated by 'Microsoft Corporation'. Is it really? Then, please advice me on how I can run both the application simultaneously.

Actually, it is important for me to be aware of malware because my source of income is internet marketing. I need your valuable suggestion for that. Thanks in advance.

    :)

  2. ByteFence.

I'm trying to remove ByteFence. Everybody says just go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and remove it from there. The problem is that the program is NOT listed. Any Suggestions?

  3. ByteFence Removal

    Follow the steps here:

    https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-bytefence/

Skip step 1 if it is not listed.

If you want to do this without installing some third party tools, you will have to reinstall Windows. The tools are good and safe.

  4. About 'ByteFance'

What it ByteFence? Should I remove it?

Have you sought assistance from your antimalware provider (Avast, AVG, Avira, McAfee, Norton, Trend Micro, etc)?

See the following free multi-step removal guide from Malwaretips.com:
    https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-bytefence-search/

If you do not see the program in Control Panel that you think is responsible for the ads and popups or you cannot uninstall it then move on to steps 2 through 4. After using AdwCleaner and Malwarebytes
Free, it may not be necessary to run Hitman Pro (Trial Version) as suggested in step 4 but you may need to reset your browsers (step 5).

Since this thread is only a year old, not yet ancient, thought you might want to edit your post.

    Thanks,
