Windows 10: About to get a new PC but can't locate product key

I'm just about to replace my 10 year old desktop but I can't locate the product key so I can transfer Microsoft office to the new set up.It's been so long since I had to install this software and that was when I bought the product as new that I was actually looking for a CD ROM to load it until I remembered that it was a new key rather than actual software from a discI've searched high and low but can't find the key anywhere.Is there any way of locating it from my existing PCI'm not sure what version of windows I'm using unfortunately Thanks

Locating windows 10 product key

How to locate windows 10 product key? my hp notepad had Windows 10 preinstalled when I purchased it (Its a legal copy). Cant find the product key listed on packaging. .. Is there a copy of the product key in my computer files? Where can I find it?

 

Product key association disable on old pc

I sold my old pc to a friend. He installed some missing parts (HDD, GPU and RAM). Then we installed Windows 10 Home 64-bit version from USB stick. I was surprised to see that windows was automatically activated after that. I did some digging and found out that it is using my product key, which i use now in my own new pc. My friend does not have his own product key, the idea was that he just uses the unactivated windows with limited features.


I uninstalled my Windows 10 product key via command prompt in friends computer (as i understand this is only local solution, if he reinstall windows or clicks the active button, it reactivates automatically with my product key) and now it says windows is not activated, but my product key is still shown with Produkey app in his pc. So far windows is still activated my own pc.


My questions:

1. Is this all i need to do?
2. How do i get rid of product key showing still with product key showing apps on my friend's computer?
3. Is there a way to get rid of association of my product key on that old pc that i sold to friend?

EDIT: I originally installed windows 10 via upgrade option from Windows 7, if that matters.

 

New DELL laptop- Windows Product Key

I followed the instructions supplied by the DELL email but in the end Windows would not automatically activate. I just found an answer by following this below google result instructions:

Find Windows 10 Product Key on a New Computer

1. Press Windows key + X.
2. Click Command Prompt (Admin)
3. At the command prompt, type: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey. This will reveal the product key. Volume License Product Key Activation.

I copied the key and entered it into the option to change product key (not that one was entered as it said it was inactive in red text). FWIW, I never got a product key in any form suggested by the problem solving suggestions
