    access BIOS settings in Win 10


    I have an 8-year old computer running Win 10. I need to access the BIOS settings. It used to be the holding down the F2 key during startup would bring up the BIOS screen in Windows computers. But this no longer works. A web article listed a complicated series of steps leading to a reboot . . . but still no access to BIOS. Any suggestions?

    entering Bios settings

    Hi Geoff,

    To access BIOS settings under Windows 10 operating system, please follow the steps below:

    • Click Start, then click Settings.
    • Click Update & security, select Recovery then under
      Advanced startup, click Restart now.
    • Select Troubleshoot, then Advanced options, then click
      UEFI Firmware Settings.

    Bio-metric access in WIN 10

    I have an HP laptop that was working fine with WIN 7 using the "on board" bio-metric access.

    After I upgraded to WIN 10 the fingerprint reader quit working and I have no access to the computer.

    HELP! How do I get in to fix the reader or to switch to "normal" password entry?
