Windows 10: Access Denied Error When Resetting Account Operator password with a user given delegated...

Hi. I have created a new OU in Active Directory Users and Computers. In this OU I have created a security group. In this security group I added all the account operator users. I now want to delegate permission on the OU to one of my active directory users to be able to reset the password on all the account operator accounts. I have followed the instructions online and gave my user the following permission with the delegate wizard "Reset user passwords and force password change at next logon". When I attempt to reset the account operator user account's passwords using the account with delegated

It's possible that you're not using an elevated command prompt, causing the Access Denied error. We suggest following these steps to properly disable the built-in administrator account:

• Right-click the Start button.
• Choose Command Prompt (Admin).
• Copy and paste net user Administrator /active:no and press
  Enter. If the command isn't successful, please post a screenshot so that we can study it further.

Let us know if you're able to hide the administrator account after following these steps.

 

Cannot access my User Account on local machine but can access Admin account. Need help finding password but NOT reset it as it will delete saved data.

If you reset the local account password it will not delete the Saved data.

I suggest you to back up the saved data and files from the admin account and try to reset the password and check if it helps.
