Access folder without privilegues on R/O volume

    Hiyas

Is s chance to copy folder stored on read only NTFS volume for which I don't have permission to access?
Permission is for use of old os which doesn't already exist.
If I was able to copy whole folder from R/O media, I could easily change the permissions but I can't do that on R/O media and any attempt to copy the folder gives error msg Access was denied.

    :)

I can't see my photos! After the last windows update a few days ago I can't see my photos in my usb memory device.

    Hi,

I check the USB flash memory in another computer ...........and is the same, I can't see the missing photos. But I check the USB with the command promtp and the is two directories without a file o folder name. One is "." and the other is ". ." How can
I access this folders? They have to be the missing folders, one was Pictures and the other one was Contracts.

    Low microphone level during calls

During your call, tap on the volume up or down buttons, you will see that there is a separate setting for 'in call volume'.

PS -- if you hard reset the phone, you will lose everything except the O/S. Now, if you backup everything to the 'cloud' via your microsoft account before the H/R, then you can restore it exactly as it was during the last stages of the H/R.

Access folder without privilegues on R/O volume

You need to take ownership of the folder if you can't set the permissions you require.

If you can't get ownership from your account then activate the super administrator account.

There are a plenty of tutorials on how to do this so I won't bother taking you through it step by step.

The problem is that I can't touch security descriptors on that r/o media any way. The permission was only for old user account, old administrators group and old SYSTEM account which however display as raw SID numbers from which none matches any of current account or group. The question is if I can emulate security credentials able to match any of listed security descriptors. Even the Administrator on current os had unique SID.

Wow didn't even try it before but magically Windows let me change ownership and even permissions on that readonly volume. Now I can copy it to safe location. Additional question is can I copy folder from NTFS source to NTFS destination with setting user permissions inherited from target folder but preserving encryption and compression attribute of source?
