  1. Access HD as external drive after computer death

My MSI laptop died and I am trying to copy files from the hard drive using a USB cable. I can see the drive in the Device Manager, and the Disk Management tool. But it doesn't appear on This PC in File Explorer. I heard that the drive might have some attribute that makes it unexplorable because it was hibernated. Does anyone know if that is the case? And how I might be able to access it to copy the files? I would appreciate the assistance.Darren

  2. External HD Connection Problem

I have attached an external HD to my computer running Windows 10 and it will not show up in my drive list. The properties shows it as Seagate.ink - what is an ink file and any suggestions as to how I can get it to work?

  3. External Hard Drive "is not accessible"

    Hi Ridhwan,

Sorry for the delayed response. Let me continue to assist you further.

The issue here could have been due to fact that the Drive I:\ is encrypted or a flush drive. This forces the computer to not recognize the format and displays the error message. I suggest here to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

    • Press Windows Key + letter 'X.'
    • Choose 'Disk Management.'
    • Right click on the External drive and select 'Change Drive letter and Path names.'
    • Rename the drive letter i.e. remove letter I and say you replace it with letter
      J.
    • Restart the computer and check the issue status.

Hope this helps. Please reply for further queries on this.
