Windows 10: Access internet via proxy

I am trying to upgrade a old windows program oracle sql developer run on windows server 2016 , as you can see in jpg , when clicking checking update , it asks to setup the http proxy , I am wonder that this server is no need to connect internet via proxy , it can access internet via http directly .We have firewall but no proxy is required , why it pops the error , how to fix it so that it can run the update ? thanks

W10 can connect to wider internet but cannot access web pages

I have an odd issue with my W10 laptop linked to Sky broadband in the UK via wifi using a Sky router. The effect is that while I can actually access the internet (I can send and receive emails using Outlook and can connect to other machines using TeamViewer) I cannot access any web site (Google, BBC etc). There is no specific error message, merely that the access request timed out and a suggestion that it may be to do with proxy.

I have tried the following:

1. Other systems (W10 and ios) can access web sites using the same Sky router (therefore probably not a router problem)
2. I have sent and received emails using Outlook, so the broadband connection is working (probably not a Sky problem)
3. I have tried two different browsers (Firefox and Edge), no connection (not a browser problem)
4. I am using Windows Defender and have:
   1. Made sure that Firefox is in the list of allowed systems in its Firewall, no connection after a reboot
   2. Turned off the Firewall and tried again - no connection

My next step will be to re-install Windows, but has anyone got any other suggestions? Could it be some sort of virus (I have carried out a complete virus check using Defender)

So - any suggestions?

Let us know the following information to assist you better with this issue:

• Are you using wired or wireless internet connection?
• What is the model of the network adapter you are using?

Try few of the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to check for the internet options.

• Press Windows + X, click on
  Control Panel, select Category and then select
  Large or Small icons.
• Click on Internet Options, go to Connections tab, click on
  LAN Settings.
• Make sure that Proxy Server is unchecked even if using Firefox.
• Check settings in Firefox in Tools / Options /Advanced Connections / Settings (should be either use system proxy settings or no proxy).

Step 2: I suggest you to refer to the below Microsoft article try the troubleshooting steps mentioned and check if it helps.

Step 3: Also, try to reset the Network Adapter and check if the issue persists.

E51 internet proxy

I need to use my E51 with a network which requires an proxy server to access the internet.

This network also uses an internal web page to authenticate before the firewall opens access to the internet.

The problem is that the connection settings on the E51 only provide for a proxy server and port, but not for any exceptions for which not to use the proxy. There is no support for auto proxy using a .pac file either.

Thus if I have NO proxy server set, I can access the authentication page, but cannot access anything outside of the local network because I have no proxy.

If I have the proxy server set, I cannot access the authentication page (or any internal page) so cannot browse at all!

You cannot change the proxy server while connected to an access point either.

Any suggestions on how to solve this?

BTW MGMaps works fine since it provides its own setting for a proxy server. Thus I can set the access point proxy to none, open the browser and authenticate on the firewall and then run MGMaps.

Perhaps I should try Opera Mini and see if it offers setting a proxy server.
