Windows 10: Access to files from old disk on different PC

Can anyone help me with an access issue I've encountered. I've recently had to replace my old Windows 11 laptop which had a lot of my data files including many office documents. I'm now trying to copy these files from the original SSD from my trashed laptop onto my new machine also Windows 11. I've found that I have access issues with many of the office files. Some I simply cannot copy and when I try to open them from the old disk directly I get "You need permission to perform this action" and the following message "You require permission from DELL2023\steve to make changes to this file. Cannot Access Files from old windows Hard Drive

Maybe the old PC refused to boot up because its hard disk had failed, as suggested by the Canadian Tech. Try connecting it to a different PC. If it fails there too then you need to restore your files from your backup medium.

 

Cannot read files on floppy disk

Hi, I have files that I know are good on a floppydisk. On trying to access them a message says the disk need formatting. I have tried to use PhotoRec from the UBCD but it will apparantly only read HDD or CD/DVD.

Can anyone suggest a freeware program that might work. Thank you for your help.
