    We completely rebuilt our computer system and are now using Windows 11 Pro. Being new to Windows 11, I had to do some research in order to learn how to set up our new OS. I set up two accounts, one an administrator account under my Microsoft account and the other a local, non-Microsoft account. I use a pin to access the administrator account and a password to access the local account. After logging into either account, I can use File Explorer to see all file folders associated with that particular account.What I think I should be able to do when logged in as administrator, is go to User, s

    Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

    Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

    I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

    It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

    EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown Accessing all folders on a local account from the administrator account Windows 11 Pro :(

    Hi, I didn't give any permissions to the standard account while setting it up, in fact you're not given any way to do so when creating it. As you can see in the screenshot guest1 (standard account) doesn't even appear in the list, there's just system, my administrator account and administrators.

    Update: For some reason, it appears that when creating a local account (standard user) windows automatically gives it permission to access files in the administrator folder (at least on my machine). So the solution is to add the local account to the list of users in the security tab of the administrator folder and deny the permissions.

    Hello,

    I've created a Local account (Standard User) for family members to use my PC without having access to my personal files in my Administrator account. The problem is that I've noticed that you can bypass the password required to access the administrator's folder from the local account by just directly searching for files in the search bar.
