  1. Accidentally deleted some files and now Onedrive Cannot sign in locally on my computer

I was trying to forcibly delete Microsoft Edge probably my first mistake by going to the file location and deleting any file that looked related to Edge and a few days later when I was trying to auto-save a document on Word, it had trouble connecting to my OneDrive school account. I checked with other programs like PPT and Excel and was experiencing the same issue of not being able to access OneDrive to auto-save or locally open up previous files. I ensured that my internet connection was stable, I was able to successfully log in to my OneDrive online, I reinstalled OneDrive, and I tried r

Removed an MSA account from PC, safe to delete local OneDrive files?

Hi Aston. If everything is signed out - browser, user, mail etc then yes it is safe. Unless you see a small green tick (synced). You say
which suggests it is a copy anyway? In this case it'll delete fine.

How to kill OneDrive, but save files in it?

    Helloilyazeld,

To disable OneDrive without deleting your files, you can follow these steps:

    1. Open the OneDrive settings: Right-click on the OneDrive icon in the system tray (located near the clock on the taskbar) and select "Settings."
    2. In the Microsoft OneDrive window, go to the "Settings" tab.
    3. Unlink OneDrive: Under the "Account" tab, click on the "Unlink this PC" button. This will remove the OneDrive connection on your computer.
    4. Keep files on your computer: In the "Settings" tab, uncheck the box next to "Files On-Demand." This ensures that all your OneDrive files will be kept on your computer and won't be deleted from the local storage.
    5. Disable OneDrive startup: Open the Task Manager by right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting "Task Manager." Go to the "Startup" tab and disable any OneDrive entries by right-clicking on them and selecting "Disable."
By following these steps, you will effectively disable OneDrive on your computer while retaining all your files locally. However, keep in mind that this process may vary slightly depending on your operating system version and the OneDrive version.

  4. Accidentally deleted some files and now Onedrive Cannot sign in locally on my computer

    Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.
