  1. Accidentally moved appdata roaming to D: Drive

I watched a video 4 months ago on how to move the appdata folder because it was taking up a ton of space on my smaller C drive. I expected for the appdata folder to be moved onto the driver, but instead all of the files inside of "Roaming" were moved onto the drive, and a Roaming folder was never created. I still have the roaming folder inside of Appdata, and theres a .ini file titled "Localtransition_695d023943ae953cd599497f44e981eb.ini"

I have no clue how to resolve this issue, and the uploader of the video I watched on how to do this never replied to me on how to. Heres the video if itll help, and thank you to anyone who took time to read and reply Accidentally moved appdata roaming to D: Drive :)

  2. Can I use "location" to move my user account to the D drive?

I have a rather small SSD boot drive on my new Windows 10 Pro system. I have used the PROPERTIES - LOCATION setting to move documents, downloads, music, etc. to the D drive. I also created a "ProgramFiles" and a "ProgramData" to help organized installs
when I want them on the D drive.

All seems to be OK until I realized that AppData\Roaming\lot-of-stuff had a lot of stuff.

Maybe I should have moved my user account, not just the folders. Is that possible? Anyone done that? Any suggestions? I would want all the roaming and "local settings" to move to the D as well.

Anyone done this and ran into problems?

    Thanks for looking.

AppData Roaming Files on single use computer

To research further about this concern, kindly answer the following questions for clarification:

    • About the roaming function, do you wish to prevent Windows 10 from storing files on the AppData>Roaming folder?
    • If not, do you wish to delete some files on the AppData folder?

Kindly specify which kind of configuration you wish to perform. Meanwhile, we suggest that you check this

  4. Accidentally moved appdata roaming to D: Drive

Roaming folder's setting not loaded comepletely?

I assume you are talking about this folder:

    c:\Users\Jianwei\AppData\Roaming

If so then these steps should fix the problem:

    1. Mark the code line below, then press Ctrl+C to copy it.
    2. Click the Start globe.
    3. Press Ctrl+V to paste the code line.
    4. Press Enter.

    cmd.exe /c attrib -h -r /s /d "%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming" & pause
