    I have a bit of an issue. I have an old ssd from another windows computer that I decided to put in my pc. I started deleting stuff on the ssd only to find the windows folder was locked. I googled a bit and found take own. I tried running it on the ssd only to find out that I ran it on the windows folder on the C drive. I stopped it pretty early but it did some damage. So I again googled around and found this article: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-restore-trustedinstaller-owner-system-files-windows-10

    I followed it and it seems the windows folder has the correct ownership now. However, the issue is when I looked through the windows folder on the old drive install I saw some folders had System level access and not Trusted Installer level. The question is will this break anything? Windows seems to be working fine but I'd like to not have any serious stability or security issues.

    So in short is there any way to restore the permissions of the windows folder? do I even need to if their all TrustedInstaller level access?

    Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

    Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

    • I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.


    • Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.
    That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

    Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.
