  2. Windows 11 Headphone/Headset Settings For 3.5mm Jack

Hello, When I first installed Windows 11 on my laptop (fresh install), after I connected my headphones, I got a notification asking me what this device is. I had two choices: "Headphones" or "Headset", so I choose Headphones.

Now, when I connect my headset to the laptop, it treats it as a headphone and the headset's microphone won't work (there is no microphone for the headset in sound settings); I haven't been able to find the setting to change the Headphone and Headset options.

    Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue Accidentally set headset up as headphones Windows 11 :p
