  1. Accidentally started format on VHDX drive, stopped it almost immediately. Can I recover it?

I intended to format a USB flash drive I had just inserted into my computer, but accidentally started the format on the adjacent drive using Rufus as the easiest way to put FAT32 on a 64GB Flash drive, which is great, but it sets the drive to be formatted via drop-down, and when I ejected and reinserted the Flash drive, it changed to the next drive for the format -- something I now see as a design flaw. That drive was a VHDX drive with a lot of important data on it almost 90GB, including data going back about 20 years. I had a File Explorer window open to a folder on that volume which clos

Is it possible to recover data from bitlocker drive that was partially formatted by accident?

I have a use case where I accidentally started to format my Bitlocker encrypted drive ( 8TB Sata drive) but around 1-2 seconds into the format I realized my mistake and immediately ctrl-c out of the format. Would it be possible for me to recover any of my data. I still have bitlocker keys and password.

  3. How do I recover files from vhdx?

Hi dear, My name is Erfan and I'm really sorry that you're experiencing this issue but I'll be more than happy to help you!

It's possible that there is an issue with the vhdx file itself that is preventing you from recovering your files using the methods you have tried so far. However, there are other options you can try.

    - Use Data Recovery Software: You can use data recovery software to try to recover files from the vhdx file. There are several options available, both free and paid, such as EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, Recuva, and Disk Drill. These tools can help you recover data from various types of storage devices, including virtual hard drives.

    - Convert the VHDX file to VHD: If the vhdx file is not working, you can try converting it to a VHD file format using the Hyper-V Manager console. Once converted, you can attach the VHD to a virtual machine and attempt to recover your files.

    - Use PowerShell to Repair the VHDX File: If you have access to PowerShell, you can try to repair the vhdx file. First, run the command "Get-VHD" to get information about the vhdx file. Then, run the command "Repair-VHD" to attempt to repair any issues with the file.

    - Use a Third-Party VHDX Recovery Tool: If none of the above methods work, you can try using a third-party VHDX recovery tool such as Kernel for VHD Recovery or SysTools Hyper-V Recovery. These tools are specifically designed to recover data from VHDX files and may be able to help you recover your files.

Before attempting any of these methods, it's important to create a backup of the vhdx file to avoid data loss.
