Windows 10: Accidentally uninstalled Fingerprint Device through Device Manager

HiI'm running a Lenovo IDEAPAD Flex 5i with Intel Core i7For context, I was having a lot of trouble with the fingerprint scanner, and decided to try something with Device Manager.Unfortunately, instead of disabling the device, I completely uninstalled it. Now Device Manager nor the laptop recognises the fingerprint scanner's existence.I have tried using Driver Updates to bring it back to no avail.Is there any steps I can take besides factory resetting the PC?Thanks in advance.

I understand how important it is for you to resolve this issue. Nothing to worry I will do my best to help you out. Just to confirm the fingerprint driver is not listed in Device Manager? Have you made any changes or updates before the issue?

If the driver is not listed, try these steps:

-Press the Windows key and X on your keyboard and select Device Manager

-Click the "View" tab > Choose "Show hidden devices"

-Select the arrow next to Biometric Devices to expand it

-Please right-click on the fingerprint driver



-Select Update driver

-Then select Browse my computer for drivers

-Choose Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer

-You'll see a list of pre-installed drivers > Select the first driver on the list and click on Next.

If the driver is still missing after showing the hidden device, you can download the driver from your device manufacturer's website.

Fingerprint issue/Power Management

already tried the credentials service one, not of any help. I guess the only fix is from the power management tab

1. Press Windows Key + X and choose Device Manager from the list

2. When Device Manager opens, locate your fingerprint reader. It should be located in Biometric Devices section.

3.Right click your fingerprint reader and choose Properties

4. Navigate to Power Management tab and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

5. Click OK to save changes.


I want to follow this step but I cannot find the power management tab.

 

No hardware listed in Device manager?

I don't konw whathappend but in Device manager and in my Network connections there is nothing where there used to be a Modem listed and all my hardware in Device Manager. What happend and how do I fix this?
