I accidentally uninstalled HD WebCam driver. How to get it back. My laptop is Dell Inspiron 15 3000 with Windows 10 as OS. I accidentally uninstalled the HD WebCam driver in my laptop. Does anyone have an idea how to get it back so I can use my built-in webcam? I cannot find the camera in the device manager list of devices right now.

Otherwise, when you uninstalled the driver, did you also choose to delete the driver files? There's no webcam obviously listed, so as you say it looks like the MS driver is the one.

 

Dell Inspiron N7110 External Webcam Issue

I have a Dell Inspiron N7110 laptop, which has Intel HD Graphics 3000 built-in card and Core I7 Intel processor.

I recently bought external Lenovo FHD 300 webcam. When I connect to the USB port, it is getting recognized and driver is automatically getting installed in Windows 10. But when I run the camera application it switches to it but could not display the video or image from it. It shows only for two seconds and then it hangs kind of and Camera app then switches back to built-in webcam. Why is this happening? Is this due to graphics card or the display?

Also I tried to test it through webcamtests.com online, it shows the webcam in dropdown list but is not able to ever connect to it. Can somebody help in resolving this issue?

I am also ok if I have to buy an external video capturing device/card and then connect webcam to it. Will it work? I am not sure, so wanted to check if this is a feasible solution or not? Or please suggest any other alternate to connect webcam.

Have you tried deleting the device from device manager and then re-adding it?

Try these steps if you haven’t:

Press windows and x keys together and then click on device manager from the list.

Under camera’s right click on webcam HD-3000

Click on uninstall device.

Remove the camera, restart your computer and then plug in the camera again.

Let the device install and check if the camera works normally.
