Windows 10: Account keeps getting locked - someone trying to gain access

Ever since the other day my account keeps getting locked every day.And when I checked in my account activity page, I see a massive number of unsuccessful sign in attempts - this is not normal right? Someone seems to be trying to gain access to my account for some reason. This has been going on for at least a month, probably more, I just stopped clicking on the "View more account activity" button at that point.When I check my google account activity for example, there is nothing there.I have a strong password randomly generated by my password manager and I have both a second email and phone n

How to gain access to the WindowsApps folder?


To gain write access you need to do two things:

1. Change ownership (it should be "TrustedInstaller") to an admin account
2. Grant that account write access

I'm not sure if it works with every admin account or if you need the "real" admin account which is hidden. It can be revealed by entering the following command in elevated cmd: net user Administrator /active:yes (or active:no do hide it again).

Thanks for replies. I dont have any access to windows in order to take the steps suggested. I am stuck at the login/password screen. For recovery it suggests an old mobile number I dont have and the other option is e.mail reset. Which again is an old e.mail I dont have access to. Is there any way I can gain access or create a user or admin user as suggested. But without access to the control panel such as from boot screen (f2 on startup) I have some old college files I'm looking to retrieve but also ideally would like access to the laptop. I can't gain access through the administrator.

Original Title : Help! I've locked myself out. How do I change administrator?

I changed my account from 'administrator' to 'standard' (recommended). But used a fictitious name (with no password). But, in order to make some changes on my pc I need administrator to allow this. And, without a password, I can't gain access through the
administrator. I keep going around in a loop. I can't gain access to cancel this account or change my own account now.

What do I do. I'm completely flummoxed.
