Windows 10: Account Logging in Error 0x8007015a

When I try to verify my identity under "Account", "Your Info". It does nothing. Literally, no popup windows or anything. When I try to verify my identity under "Sync your settings", "Individual sync settings", a window pops up that tries to sign me in, but then gives the message "Something went wrong, please try again later. 0x8007015a".


I also get this error code and message in these situations:

• With constant pop-ups saying to Sign in to Microsoft Family features, but when I try to sign in, I am getting the same error.
• Trying to access Windows 10 Mail app - It has the message that my Hotmail account settings are out-of-date, but when I click "Fix Account", it gives the same error.

I can log into my account online and other devices with no errors. Other people that have accounts on this computer can also log in without problems. I've updated my computer to the latest version and it still had the same error. I tried removing my computer from the family devices, but it's still giving the same errors and I can't add it back to the devices under my account. I have a lot of games and customizations installed so I'd prefer to not have to recover the computer where I have to re-install everything.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Remove account


I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

Also may I suggest you change email accounts to one of the following.....

Gmail
Outlook

The reason is they both use "Step two verification". This style of verification means even if a hacker gets your password they cannot log in to your account. You see every time someone try's to log in that hasn't been verified you will get a text or a phone call giving you a final code to log in. Its very easy and simple to setup also. The great thing is once you setup your Email application with a specific "application password" from that account you never have to log in again AND your account is protected from being logged in from foreign entities.

I like the new outlook personally however Gmail is also damn good. Gmail also has an IP tracker that allows you to see WHERE the account has been logged in from. Anyway let us know if you wanna change over and have any questions. We will be happy to help and welcome to TPU!
