Windows 10: Account name issue after switching to a local account

I've just switched over to a local account, but found that there was an issue with the new account name. The letter at the end of it was somehow replaced with a strange "ȁ" character, which isn't even on my keyboard.I hoped this was purely cosmetic, but it isn't. The misspelling has made it so my password doesn't work, effectively locking me out of my pc.Elsewhere i.e the advanced startup menu, the account name is spelled properly and the password works fine. It only seems to be the login screen having this problem.Does anyone have any idea how this might've happened, and how i can go about

Query about changing the account name

Since you have already changed the name on your Microsoft account, we suggest switching into a local account, and then log back in with your Microsoft account. This way, we can be sure that any changes made to your Microsoft account will be synced to your
local user account.

For steps on how to switch to a local account:

• Click on Start.
• Click on Settings.
• Click on Accounts.
• Under Your account, click on Switch to a local account.

To switch back to a Microsoft account:

• Follow steps 1-3 above to get to Accounts.
• Under Your account, click on Sign in with a Microsoft account instead.

Switch Back to Existing Local Account from Microsoft Account

I already identified that I had tried this, and that it did not allow me to switch back to the original Local Account. The Microsoft Account hijacked the User Name of the original Local Account. When I click "Sign in With a Local Account instead" and enter
the original User Name, Windows 10 won't proceed. The only way to get back to a Local Account is enter a new User Name.

 

Local Account password changed to Online Account Password

I suggest you to follow the steps on how to switch from Microsoft account to Local account:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Local account instead.
• Enter your Microsoft account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the Local account and click OK.
• Now, login to Local account.
