Windows 10: Account reset required to obtain bitlocker-key

Almost ayear ago I bouht a new laptop for my wife. During first-time start I had to create a Microsoft account to continue, so I created a <name>@outlook.com account and continued with the startup. My wife uses Gmail so never used that outlook account for email. Now, almost a year later, the laptop started and showed a bitlocker-screen, requesting a bitlocker key.I don't have that key and discovered that it is stored in that created outlook account. Tried to login there, but could not remember the password! Stupid, but, well, never used it anymore... After too many tries now the account

Bitlocker key can not be found in the microsoft account

After a regular update of Windows my Notebook asked me for the Bitlocker Key although I never activated this. The device is listed in my account but in the list of keys it's not.

Simply doing a reset is definitely not an option, the data is needed.

Every single suggestion for how to find the key is absolutely useless so far.

The original MS account associated with this Windows installation was locked due to too many incorrect password attempts and the email address attached to it had been forgotten, so a new outlook.com account was created (as suggested in the MS account recover process). This required a 30 day wait to be able to access the new account. On day 30 we received an SMS stating that the account was active and to go to aka.ms/alcp. But after searching for the bitlocker key, none are listed in the account, and no devices are attached.

I thought the creation of the new account (during the recovery process) would transfer everything over to the new account, including the bitlocker key. But it didn't. It did however transfer a timestamp of when the password was last changed on the old account (in 2017) so that would indicate partial account data was transferred. Could it be that it hasn't been completed yet?
