Windows 10: Account settings are out of date, but "fixing" it does nothing

Last summer, I got a new laptop. I added two email accounts to the Windows 10 Mail app, one of which worked fine. I wasn't sure about the email password for the other email which has a domain of @charter.net, so I guessed and it added it, but it didn't show any emails. I looked up my problem online and checked all the settings and fixed the ones that needed to be changed. Still nothing. It eventually gave me a notification saying my account settings were out of date, so I "fixed" it, but still no emails showed up. I gave up, since I'm not very tech-savvy, I don't use the email for much, and I remember my password for the accounts I do use it for, and I never got anymore notifications until recently.


A few days ago, I abruptly began getting those "your Charter account settings are out of date" notifications again. I went into the app and "fixed" it, but it still didn't show me any emails and gave me the same notification the next day. Since then, I've been "fixing" it every day to no avail and then getting the notification again the next day. I've tried every method of "fixing" the email account it's given me, but it still doesn't work.


I added a third email to the Windows 10 Mail app a few days ago, and it works fine. Maybe adding it caused me to start getting the "out of date" notifications again? While my Charter email doesn't work, it shows all of the emails I've gotten for my other two email accounts, and those two accounts can send and receive emails without issue.


Can someone please help me actually fix my @charter.net email? I'd appreciate any help!

Mail Account "out of date" after U/grade to W10

Step 1: Make sure your computer is completely up to date.

Step 2: Go to outlook and delete all accounts.

• Go to settings.
• Manage accounts.
• Click on your account
• Remove this account from your device
• Delete

Step 3: Restart your computer.

Step 4: Open outlook.

• Add account.
• Click on Google (Do not click on Microsoft account)
• Add your Gmail account.

That should fix it! Hope this helps, took me a while to figure it out.
