    I have a new laptop and during initial setup, a new account was created. I have located the existing account and would like to delete the new one and use the existing one, so I can transfer items from old computer. How can I change the account info mid initial setup?

    Local account installation question


    I'm fairly certain that Skip this step was available in 10.0.130 - the workaround in Step 20 (back button) is no longer required.

    The currently known, as of 10.0.130, ways to create a Local account sign-in are
    • Skip this step at the MS account creation phase
    • No Internet connection during the install
    • static IP (post# 2 by Fragment) - New (to me anyway)

    Microsoft Account Setup New Computer

    When you are setting up a new computer do have to setup a Microsoft Account? If you don't want an account how can you get the new computer up and running?

    Hi Jose,

    I followed your suggested steps but the same thing still happens when I complete the out of the box experience setup.

    By the way, the only reason the device was even in the device list was because (as a troubleshooting step) I tried creating a local account and then connecting to my work account to verify that the windows install was working properly. So I'm not surprised I still got the same result account setup on new computer :(
