Windows 10: Accounts automatically loggin in locked at startup

I can't remember the right terminology for this.When I use the admin account on my mother's Win11 laptop to maintain her computer she's not very computer literate and I limited her to a standard account to save some hassles of her being tricked into doing stupid things, the next time she uses the computer the admin account gets logged in automatically and locks it, so when she tries to shut down the computer she gets a message about "other users using the computer".How do I turn this feature off? I can't recall what the terminology is, and searching Bing for "accounts signing in automaticall

A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

Hello sciencegal,

You can have Windows automatically sign in to a local account or Microsoft account. It doesn't matter.

Is you account listed more than once in netplwiz? Double check to make sure that you have selected the correct account in step 3 Option 1.

The password is case sensitive, so be sure to enter it exactly for it to work properly.
