    Accounts "Sync your settings" crashes to desktop


    Hi! I have a problem with my Microsoft account not syncing.


    I can see that it's not syncing as my account on my dad's PC has my old profile picture and the screen time changes my dad makes don't seem to do anything he has to use the "my parent is here" option on screen. From reading this forum, I decided to check my Sync settings but as soon as I click "Sync your settings" the entire Settings app crashes to desktop disappears!


    Most of the advice on here is about how to sync your account, but I can't even get that far! Like I say, the settings page just crashes. Windows is up-to-date. Please help!

    Microsoft Account not syncing WP8.1

    Hi Michael,

    We suggest that you manually sync your Microsoft account by following these steps:

    • Go to Settings.
    • Tap email + accounts.
    • Tap and hold your Microsoft account.
    • Tap sync.

    Check also if you have the correct date and time set on your phone.

    Let us know the results.

    'Sync your settings'

    I am unable to sync my desktop and laptop. My desktop reads, "Some features are only available if you are using a Microsoft account or work account" and 'Sync settings' is off and greyed out. My laptop has 'sync settings' on. Both devices are set up the same way and I have the same Microsoft account for each. Both were synced once upon a time because I had the same background on both. I am unsure whether the change might have occurred when I updated both devices to Windows 10 last year. I appreciate there might be many reasons for the latest situation that will make the cause difficult to identify, but one suggestion or another might just help.

    Sync My Settings Not Syncing

    I had a problem previously related to my sync setting being greyed out. Now i have my 2 pcs logged in with a online Microsoft account, all the sync settings are turned on with both pc's. Still it does not seem to be syncing. Any suggestions guys?
