Windows 10: Acer Aspire 5735 System RAM availability

Hi guys!

My GF has a super old Acer Aspire 5735 that got kinda refreshed with an intel core 2 duo T9600, 4 GB 800mhz ddr dual channel memory and an SSD.

It runs windows 10 64bit genuine and correctly activated and it has intel 4500 integrated graphics.

I can see the whole 4gb of ram in the bios that's at version 1.07. I cannot update it under Windows to 1.10 (found in the Acer FTP website). I have to check with winphlash.

Anyway, Windows says that it can detect the whole 4GB but only 2.7 are available. Huge thanks to Nightmayor for the modded video drivers.

Since I don't know how to solve it, I bought a 4gb stick 800mhz, for a total of 6GB.

Alright, I have tested this new stick on another Acer (travelmate something) with a T5800 and integrated intel graphics 3100 if I remember correctly. Well, this notebook can see the whole 6GB and says that they are all available for windows even if it has an intel integrated graphics chip.

How can I teach my GF's notebook to use the whole (or most) of the system RAM?

Hi Captain.

While I'm not answering your question on a new AV I would suggest as a possible step, upgrading your ram.

Crucial has ram for your device. $40 (not sure about tax or shipping) Your device seems to have one slot so you would need the 4GB stick. As you are using 32bit OS you can only use of 3GB. Crucial says you have one slot for memory and tear down videos seem to confirm this.

Memory is static sensitive. Not as much of an issue when it is humid but still something to be aware of. If you don't want to buy a ground strap touch something that is grounded before starting the procedure and then don't go looking for things. Stay seated and perform. You should be fine.

External ram ??? Even if you could buy you wouldn't have port with sufficient speed to connect.

Yes it was. But why is it not powering up. Or better off it powers up for a few seconds then it turns itself off.
