    Yesterday, my computer conducted an update. It took much longer than usual (over 4 hours) but I let it complete the cycle. After it restarted, the usual and expected photo/screensaver was displayed. I could not use the space bar to open the field for entering my access code. I could not use the mouse or keyboard. The touchscreen was unresponsive. Basically, my only option was to hard reboot, which I did several times. I've done this over 50 times since yesterday and it's almost always the same. Today, on two occasions, it showed a blue screen and conducted additional updates only to return to the same state as before. I've tried all the function keys during startup and can access BIOS and a few other menus but they offer no usable options (such as reset or restore, safe mode or some of the other fixes described in online articles). I'm dead in the water. Please help.

    Ever since I would say, the past upgrade for Windows 10, my mom's Acer desktop's keyboard has been really laggy. For example, when I go to wake it from sleep to unlock it, the keyboard's Number lock and Caps lock keys do not want to light up. It seems as if the keyboard doesn't want to respond in a timely manner along with the computer. The same goes for the wireless Logitech mouse.

    Keyboard: Toshiba Laptop

    The same as I mentioned above goes for the Toshiba Laptop that was originally mine, that I have given to my sister.

    Unresponsive Mouse and Keyboard in Windows 10

    One reason why your mouse and keyboard is not working is because of an outdated driver. We suggest that you update the mouse and keyboard driver by following the steps below:

    • Pres Windows+X key on your keyboard.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • Locate the mouse and keyboard drivers, right click, then click on Update.
