  1. ACER KG271U Monitor disconnects once every couple hours

Monitor Acer KG271U disconnects every couple hours. after the first time it disconnects, it starts disconnecting around every 45 minutes, then it turns back on by itself after about 5 minutes it’s the same pattern every time. Tried a different power cable still was happening. I then plugged in a hdmi cord and it was on 144 htz it was working perfectly fine. It’s also recognized as “generic pnp monitor” in the device manager

  2. my acer aspire laptop dosent detect external vga monitor .

    Hi Sivaram,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    1. Since when are you facing this issue?
This issue might be happening because of the faulty drivers. That’s the reason you are getting intermittent connection on external monitor.

However, you may try the below suggested steps.

Step 1: Try connecting on a different monitor and check if the issue still persists.

Step 2: Try using a different VGA cable to connect with external monitor and check the status of the issue.

Step 3: Update display driver adapters

    You may refer the article

and check the status of the issue.

Step 4: Check for an updated Video driver on the

    Acer drivers and Manuals page
    .

Primary monitor blacks out after disconnecting from external

    Hi Oscar,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forums.

    • Are you aware of any changes that happened on the computer prior to this issue?

This issue could be due to the display setting corruption that only affected the primary display when disconnected from the secondary.

I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works for you:

    • Press ‘Win + R’ keys on the keyboard together to open the Run dialog box and type the following into the Run box:
      appwiz.cpl
    • Uninstall Intel HD Graphics Drivers and exit
      Programs and Features.
    • Right click the Windows icon on the taskbar and choose
      Device Manager
      .
    • Expand Display Adapters and right click on
      Intel HD Graphics Display Driver.
    • Click on Uninstall and check the box
Delete the driver software for this device.

    • With the external monitor connected, reboot the machine.
    • Once the machine boots into the desktop, disconnect the external monitor and check if the issue persists.

    Hope it helps.

    Regards,

  4. ACER KG271U Monitor disconnects once every couple hours

Monitor Acer KG271: keeps disconnecting watching Netflix

I recently bought a new Acer KG271 monitor (it's a pretty new item, on the market since the first half of 2017 - full specs here). I connected it with the HDMI cable provided in the box and immediately tried to extend my laptop screen on the new one.

    Two are the issues here:

    1. If I try to set my laptop as first main screen, and having the Acer as secundary...
    2. ... and if I try to watch Netflix (now, anything on Netflix)

it will go black, will try to scan the other sources (HDMI2, VGA...), and end up showing the "no source found" like message.
The thing is that it isn't a real disconnection because the open windows on the Acer don't come back to the laptop.

Has anyone a clue of what's going on?

    EDIT (few moments later)

Sorry guys, it was a test I didn't run before: with the VGA connection both issues are solved.
But it's still pretty annoying that I can't use the HDMI connection...
