Windows 10: acer laptop freezes and closes programme

hi, i have a acer swift sf113 laptop and it keeps freezing and closing my programmes

.

it only ever happens when i go into file explorer, if i right click anything it will close the file, if i try to click on 'this pc' it will close or if i try to open or extract a zip file it will do the same thing.


i have looked it u and some people have recommended to download the shexview.exe and to disable the desktopContextMenu class, i have down this and all of the others with it but still no change.


any help and advice would be much appreciated!


oh my latop is running on windows 10 if that makes any difference.

Freezing of various programmes on Laptop


Hi,

Had been having various problems with laptop which resulted in me using my recovery USB.

I have a Acer Aspire 3 with Windows 10.

Once the recovery was complete the laptop has had the same issues it had been having prior to the recovery. These were:

Cortana Freezing intermittently
Search bar freezing intermittently
Google Chrome freezing intermittently with web pages freezing before opening website
Taking ages for webpages to load even though have good speed of internet (checked through speedtest)
General Freezing of different programmes intermittently
Generally slow to boot
Slow when opening programmes


There is nothing on the computer in terms of files clogging up the system which could cause it to freeze.
I have performed a virus check and it is completely clean.
I am at a total loss what to do. The laptop is only 2 months old and had been working fine up until a few days ago and had been incredibly fast.

I would be so grateful if anyone can help me or point me in the right direction.

Acer Laptops :are they crap ?

Acer makes a cheap prodcut period. They user lower end plastics, as well as assembly. (I hate working on Acer laptops)

If budget is an issue then get an acer... though for $50 more you could get a gateway that will smoke the acer in terms of quality.

For a laptop though i would suggest one of the DV7T's from HP or a Business class Toshiba/HP/IBM (not the lenovo branded, the Thinkpads)

If you prefer, you still can revert it back using the factory restore procedure, there's a hotkey on every new acer laptop/PC. just my two cents
