    hi i have an acer laptop running windows 10 that has 3.5mm earphone jack which supposedly can support the mic in my earphone but whenever i plugged in my earphone, i can only use the earphone but not the mic. i've tried everything including downloading realtek hd audio drivers and looking through the settings in sound control panel but still nothing works for me. is it some hardware problems or some settings that i mislook? i've tried several earphones and it didn't work and the earphones work well on my phone. i need help ASAP because i have online classes and the built in mic in the laptop is terrible.Thank you.

    Mic in earphones issue

    Hello,

    I have a Dell Inspiron 7567 gaming laptop. I have issues with external mic or mic in earphones or headsets. They used to work perfectly fine about till previous month or two.. I don't know what happened, now windows doesn't detected them.. Whenever i connect
    any of my earphones with mic, which used to work perfectly with my laptop, the playback device is detected but the recording device isn't.. The Waves pop up appears where there no mic device listed.. neither in the windows sound settings.. Laptop's internal
    mic works fine.. But doesn't detect external mic.. it appears as if i have not connected any mic..

    Please help me out fixing this issue..

    How to use both built-in Microphone and earphones (Earphones do not have mic) at the same time?

    Config: Acer F15 Laptop Windows 10.

    My built in desktop Mic works perfect and so do earphones separately.

    My earphones do not have mic so I want to use built in desktop mic while plugging my earphones but mic do not detect any sound..

    My friend uses lenovo, and built in/desktop mic detects sound when I connect same earphones.(On windows 10)

    How do I enable or use both at same time ? Couldn't find resolution on net.

    Laptop won't detect built-in mic on headsets/earbuds

    Hi,

    You may mute Mic: right-click on taskbar speaker/Sounds/Recording tab-->Mic properties/Levels-->mute.

    Your laptop should have two mini-jacks, usually in front. One for mic (line-input) and the other for earphones (line-output) or external speakers.
    You have to use a splitter cable which splits your 1 mini-jack headset cable into 2 mini-jack cables.
    One for mic and the other for earphones:
