Windows 10: Acer Nitro 5 Laptop camera suddenly 'crashing' and is showing as unavailable or being used...

Hi, Recently I am facing a weird issue where my laptop Acer Nitro 5 camera app crashes after working fine for some time. In the respective app, be it Zoom or Whatsapp Desktop Client it shows as Camera unavailable or being used by another app. The name of my laptop's camera while working fine shows as HD User Facing in the Device Manager. However, when it crashes, it simply shows as PC Camera instead.I have tried most of the fixes available online, like resetting the camera app from Settings, uninstalling and then re-installing from Device Manager, Searching for suitable drivers in Windows up

Acer Nitro 5 Camera not detected

Hello, where can I download a windows 10 generic camera driver? Because for some strange reason, windows deemed it necessary to delete my acer nitro 5 webcam driver. And before you tell me all your "fixes" don't, I've tried everything except resort back to my previous version of windows, which I don't want to do. SO can someone link a backup acer nitro 5 camera driver? thanks

 

Acer Nitro 5 Camera not detected

I have been having the same issue since January and have tried everything there is to try. I also have a yellow error symbol on my USB port in the device manager with no camera icon. I don't see how no one in Microsoft/windows does not know how to fix this error. Acer does not have a camera driver to fix the issue. so now I'm stuck with my laptop freezing and then I have to force the power off, turn it back on and my screen is black. I Have the ACER NITRO 5 AN515-4. I went back to windows 10 and had the same issue. I do not see how my camera driver could just disappear, or when I uninstall the unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed) it comes right back after I restart my laptop. I am just baffled how no one on Acer's forum or here can fix these 2 issues. the camera from the windows store says my camera is not attached, I have also tried to get the driver from the windows update. WHERE IS THE MISSING CAMERA DRIVER AND HOW DO WE FIX THE USB PORT ERROR IN THE DEVICE MANAGER?

Go into BIOS/UEFI Setup to see if you can set the onboard chip to default. You can power on while pressing the Acer F1 or ESC key. Older models may use F2. This may be listed on the BIOS splash screen.

If you don't get a display for the BIOS even, then I'd reinstall the Nvidia card and properly disable it in BIOS setup before removing it this time.
