Windows 10: acer not picking up my headset mic properly

hi, ive come across a really annoying problem and need helpmy headset mic is good and works PERFECTLY on my HP elitebook, however, after getting an acer aspire a315-24P, my headset mic does not work as well and often cuts out. when i switch it on my other laptop, it works well again. yes, i selected my headset mic as my default mic, and it is my input device. how do i fix this? i know some laptops have different sound hardware but this is really frustrating.

Mic picking up audio output from headset.

Either they are playing around with you or you have a chat running, with the MIC allowing everything, no matter what. Suggest unhooking your headset when not using.

 

Headset Mic not picking up on pc

I have an hp all-in-one desktop pc. My pc only picks up the built in microphone and not the microphone from my headset. The pc has one 3.5mm port and the picture that is above it is of a mic/headset combo. However, when I plug in my headset the pc only recognizes
the already built in mic. Sound comes out from the headset but my voice is getting picked up by the built in pc microphone. My headset microphone does not show up in "Recording Devices" even when "Show Disabled" is checked. I have updated my drivers and many
other things, but I just can't get this to work. How can I get my microphone to work on my pc? Do I need some kind of adapter? Any kind of help is appreciated.

After Windows update, Realtek "Headphone" setting does not detect headset mic, while "Headset" setting detects mic but picks up computer sounds

SHORTER TITLE: Headset mic issue after Windows update

I have a headset with a 3.5mm jack and a laptop with a single audio/mic jack so I'm not using a splitter.
The microphone of the headset was working properly before, in which the analog option in the advanced settings of Realtek audio console was set to "Headphone" instead of "Headset". However, after updating my Windows PC on July 9, 2021, it stopped detecting the headset's mic and now uses the laptop's mic. If I set the Realtek audio console analog setting to "Headset", the headset's mic would work, but it would also pick up the audio output. For example, in a Discord call, my friends would hear the Youtube video that I'm playing (keep in mind that I'm using a headset, not speakers). The "AEC" setting in Realtek greatly reduces the issue in Windows Voice Recorder, but seems to have no effect with other software that I use such as Discord and Messenger.

I would like to know the steps on how to be able to use my headset's mic without picking up the sounds from my computer. I've been trying to solve this for months and have already tried a lot of solutions posted in the internet.

Some of my failed attempts to fix this:
* Sound Troubleshooter
* Uninstall Realtek audio driver (so that the computer will reinstall it automatically)
* Uncheck "Listen to this device"
* Reset PC
* Allow access to microphone and related permission settings
* Enable all Playback and Recording devices
* Disable all Playback and Recording devices not related to my headset

I can't lower the mic volume because my volume will be affected as well.

This issue started when I was using Windows 10 and I'm currently on Windows 11.
