Dear Microsoft Support Community,I own an Acer Predator Triton 500 PT516-51s-98E0 Intel Core i9-11900H, NVIDIA RTX 3080.NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Drivers: 565.90 WHQL. Recently I have begun experiencing Discrete GPU Usage Peaks, without any applications running on the NVIDIA RTX 3080, nor any display connected to it. This strange behavior seems to uselessly increase the fan speed. I have tried reverting to previous versions of the NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Drivers or disabling "Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling" on Windows 11, without any success. The issue s

Acer Predator Triton 500 SE : CPU Workload, Clocks & Temperature Problem

I do not own an ASUS product. My gear is an Acer Predator Triton 500 SE PT516-51s-98E0.

The Turbo Mode I am referring to is inherent to Intel. It boosts the CPU Clocks from 2.5 GHz to 4.9 GHz, automatically.

I do not perform any manual selection in any tool.

The spike in Temperature that can be noticed in the second screenshot corresponds to this doubling of the CPU Clocks, even though there is a constant Low CPU Workload of around five percent. This behaviour does not make any sense.

Acer Predator Triton 500 SE : CPU Workload, Clocks & Temperature Problem

Dear Microsoft Community,

My gear is an Acer Predator Triton 500 SE PT516-51s-98E0, which I've owned for about a year.

When selecting the High Performance Power Plan, even though there is a Low CPU Workload of around five percent, the CPU Clocks are maxed out in Turbo Mode and the system generates a huge amount of heat, up to eighty degrees Celsius, practically idle.

I've only managed to control the issue by selecting the Balanced Power Plan, while at the same time setting the CPU Power Limit to ninety-five percent. It will only go into Turbo Mode during gaming sessions.

I did not have these issues until recently. I believe they might have popped up after some recent Windows Update. I'm afraid that the hardware on my laptop will suffer in time.

You can observe a huge peak in the CPU Clocks & Temperature (above eighty degrees Celsius) in the screenshot below, when selecting the High Performance Power Plan, although the CPU Workload remains unchanged.

It's as if the computer no longer knows how to control the CPU, in line with the necessary tasks to achieve.

CES 2019: Acer debuts new compact Swift 7 and Predator Tritons

At CES 2019, Acer introduces the thin and light Swift 7 (SF714-52T) with a new premium chassis. An honoree of a CES 2019 Innovation Award, its ultra-narrow bezels make it virtually borderless, giving the Swift 7 a 92 percent screen-to-body ratio. It’s feather-light too, so that traveling professionals who carry a notebook through the day will rejoice at its weight: just two pounds.

Designed for portability, it’s made with magnesium-lithium and magnesium-aluminum alloys, which also keeps the keyboard sturdy and provides solid support while typing. These materials are two to four times stronger than standard aluminum alloys at the same thickness, yet are up to 20 to 35 percent lighter. Acer also applied a micro-arc oxidation finish to create a surface with an elegant, ceramic-like material.

Powered by the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8500Y processor, it delivers top-notch performance for presentations and spreadsheets, and even when using creator tools. You can store a large amount of files and quickly get to them, with up to 512 GB of fast PCIe SSD storage. With up to 16 GB of LPDDR3 RAM, you can multitask smoothly. And with 10 hours [1] of battery life, customers can use their Swift 7 well into the evening.

You can accomplish more using the two USB Type-C ports supporting Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.1 Generation 2. The Display Port 1.3 makes for fast data transfers at up to 10 Gbps and supports high-resolution external displays and speedy charging of external devices. Connectivity with the Acer Swift 7 is reliable and super-fast with WiFi5 featuring 2×2 MU-MIMO technology. Peripherals can also be connected via Bluetooth 5.0.

Jet-setting professionals will appreciate the Swift 7’s design, which includes a backlit, chiclet keyboard with well-spaced keys, 1.1 mm of travel distance and responsive feedback. The Corning Gorilla Glass touchpad is precise and responsive while scrolling and navigating. It also has an integrated click button, support for multi-touch gestures and a responsive physical click. The Predator Triton 900 is a 17-inch gaming notebook in an inventive form factor with innovative new design features. It has a CNC-machined Ezel Aero Hinge that flips, extends or reclines the display.
