Windows 10: Acoustic Echo Cancellation doesn't show in the enhancements window

Hello,

I don't have Acoustic Echo Cancellation in the enhancements window as an option. I use Realtek drivers version 6.0.8907.1 and my headphones have 3.5 mm Jack. I tried reinstalling the driver, updating it and changing my headphones. The driver is working but I don't have Acoustic Echo Cancellation. Please Help!

Despite what Samsung told you, the "Echo Cancellation" setting is a Samsung specific feature that they added to the phone. Each vendor can customize the phones with hardware specific functionality. HTC has "Beats" audio enhancement on their phones, Nokia
has their PurView camera hardware.

Windows Phone 8 does not have echo cancellation as a platform feature. On the MSDN forums there is a

post by a Microsoft engineer who explains that phone hardware isn't powerful enough to do echo cancellation.

Typically real time audio processing is handled by dedicated digital signal processing (DSP) chips. Samsung uses the Qualcomm Hegagon DSP chipset on the ATIV. If Samsung wont address the problem, I would suggest returning it and getting a Lumia instead.

 

How to add options like Noise Suppression and Acoustic Echo Cancellation to my microphone again?

I'm Janelee, an Independent Advisor and community member like you. You got an awesome microphone with condenser there. My brother bought something like that too just recently actually. Let me help you on this.

1. On the search bar, type Sound and press Enter.

2. Select the Recording tab.

3. Right-click on Microphone and click Properties.

4. On the Properties window, select Enhancement tab and check(enable) the Noise Suppression and Acoustic Echo Cancellation feature.

5. Click OK.
