I just noticed that I get error msgs as cited in the title in the system event log 2x every time my laptop resumes from sleep mode:This is rather new and most probably caused by a recent update - keen to learn which one...Apart from the standard MS updates there were no BIOS updates or any other major SW changes, just 2 VisualStudio updates.Looking at the ACPI related drivers they all date back to 7Dec2019 incl. battc.sys/cmbatt.sys, except for ACPI.sys:I therefore collected a list of all updates processed on my laptop since 30July21, hoping there is a way to find out which one brought in t

ACPI BIOS errors 4 and 5 on shutdown

I'm running a year-old HP Envy desktop, with W10 Pro 1809. I am seeing these ACPI read/write errors (AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to read from an illegal IO port address (0x75), which lies in the 0x74 - 0x76 protected address range. This could lead to system
instability. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.") logged in the Event Viewer, but only sporadically, and they ALWAYS occur on shutdown. I'm not sure when they started.

The system is otherwise OK (touch wood), and I really want to know what is causing them. The "system vendor" seems to have absolutely no idea.

I am running the penultimate BIOS F.22 for this machine. There is a BIOS update to F.30 which is described as " -The first 19H1 softroll production BIOS". 19H1 is, I understand, W10 1903, which I'm not running, and I can't see how an update for a future
W10 64 bit 1903 OS instal will cure problems on 1809.

I have checked all drivers possible and updated them. Someone, somewhere, must have some idea of what causes these, and what possible solutions there are, and I don't want to start possibly futile or damaging "on a hunch" remedial steps.

 

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
