Windows 10: Acronis protection uninstalled but cant remove it from Windows Security

Ive uninstalled Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office but in Windows Security I cant remove Acronis i cant see how to do it and I cant activate Microsoft Defender in its place.All help and advice welcome.ThanksRegdsallan

Win10 upgrade asking me to uninstall already-removed Acronis software

As a former Acronis user I know that it can be exceedingly difficult to uninstall. Given that maybe a clean install would be better for you in the long run. FYI, I’m now a Macrium user and would never go back to Acronis.

 

How do you uninstall chipset drivers?

I'm installing a new mobo so I need to uninstall the intel 865g drivers to make way for the P35 drivers.

Can't find any uninstall options in add/remove programs and intel chipset inst listed in driver cleaner.

Any suggestions? *Confused

 

2H22 versus Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office

I had no problem upgrading from Windows 10 to 11 but could not get the 2H22 to install and run. After a series of attempts at upgrading vs clean installs I finaly gave up and reinstalled Windows 10. I left the process for 3 months or so and tried again as an upgrade and had no problems getting the Windows 11 but my problems always were blue screens after installing all the apps. I made sure to uninstall any antivirus software including Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office that has mutated from a good backup app into an octopus of protection software in its dozen or so running background applications. I added the Malwarebytes back without a problem and, of course, had Windows own security software working. When I reinstalled Acronis I got a blue screen. I was able to uninstall it and have left it to its own devices on other peoples' systems. I did not spend time trying to figure out what was causing the problem, and I know that this is not the general experience, but Acronis forums have a number of users with similar problems. We have two Windows 11 systems in the house. The newer one came with Windows 11 and has no problem with Acronis. My own system that I built is the one that has the problem. I was able to recreate local and cloud backup using iDrive and Synology Drive Client that works with the NAS. Acronis is rewriting its apps and supposedly will let the backup software run without the protection stuff.

I am happy to be back on Windows 11. Comments to previous posts directed me to add apps incrementally so if others are struggling this would be my suggestion.
