Windows 10: Action Center is not showing past notifications

This is a non functioning tool if I can not see what it notified me of. I have been looking for information on someone from my past for a long time. At start up before I even put in my passcode, I see a notification with this persons name on it so, I click to open it immediately and BAM it is gone before I could even see where it was from. Not only irritating but EXTREMELY aggravating! This was important info that I have been looking for. I am ready to throw all Microsoft stuff out because of this!

Action Center is not showing past notifications

Hello,

I have recently made a clean install of Windows 10 Pro and I don't think the Action Center is working as intended.

In short, the Action Center does not show past notifications.

Notification toasts from various apps do appear on the desktop, and the icon for a new notification does lights up, but when I open Action Center either there is no notification there or the one notification is there, but is then automatically cleared once
I close the Action Center (even if I did not click on it). The Action Center is therefore always empty.

It was my impression that the Action Center should show a list of past notifications, so that if I am away from the computer I can check the notifications I've missed. Am I missing something or is the Action Center bugged?

I understand your concern that you do not find the icons in the notification area.

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps:

Steps:

• Press Windows key and type
  Settings.
• Click on Settings, System
  and on Notifications and actions.
• Click on Select which icons appears on the taskbar.
• Turn on Always show all icons in notification area.

Action Center is not showing past notifications

Hi,

These notifications are meant to be displayed until the user decided to take action. There are two ways a user can interact with an action:

• Dismiss the notification (clears the action)
• Select the notification (respond to the action)

Once one of these interactions take place, the notification is no longer displayed. No history is maintained in these notifications. This is done on purpose so that the history will be prevented
from being overloaded by past notifications.

If your concern is on a system level, we recommend you to look in the
System logs.
