Windows 10: Action Center Stopped Responding Windows 10

Without any new program installations or changes maybe a couple new Theme Downloads from MS Store, the Action Center just stopped functioning. Notification numbers are indicated but I can't open the app. Does anyone know how to solve this?

  Do you want to stop notifications only from Defender or stop all action center notifications?
  

To stop action center notifications, I suggest you to follow the steps given below:

• 
  Type settings in search bar and hit
  enter.
  
• 
  Go to system.
  
• 
  Select notifications and actions.
  
• 
  Click on turn system icons on or off.
  
• 
  Turn off action center.

Disable Action Center in Windows 7?

Unfortunately that doesn't disable Action Center, all it does it cause Acution Center to bitch about the Security Center service not running.

Action Center seems to be a different beast from Security Center...

And telling it to not display any messages gets it out of the way, the same way disabling the icon in the suggestions above does, but Action Center is still enabled and running.

 

Action Center in Windows 10 frequently stops working

1) Does the action center stops working only while you access notifications through Outlook 2013/any notifications through action center?

2) Have you made any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

If any of these functions like Start Menu, Settings, Search, Cortana, Microsoft Edge, Action Center and other Windows inbuilt apps/etc. are not responding, follow these below steps and check if it helps:

  Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard, select
  Command prompt (admin). (Enter the administrator credentials if prompted)
  
• 
  Enter the below commands one by one and hit Enter key. These commands will check and repair if there are any corrupted files
  
  Sfc /scannow
  
  Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
  
• 
  As above, if this reports problems that cannot be fixed, stop here. Follow the below step.
  
• 
  Now enter the below command in Command prompt (admin) prompt.
  
  PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted
  
  
• 
  Now enter the below command and hit Enter key.
  
  Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
