    Action Center times out

Though Windows notifications do appear near the system tray as they should, when I click on the NOTIFICATIONS button either nothing happens or at best I will see a notification for 2 or 3 seconds and then it will vanish. If I click the NOTIFICATIONS icon after that I'll either see a blank window with no notifications or no blank window at all.
I'm aware of the SETTINGS to control how long a notification will appear and Windows does honor my request so a notification will appear for that length of time; however, my problem is why I can't see the notifications when I click on the icon like I used to?!
I'm using Win10 version 1909 and thanks in advance to all who reply,
    Dan

    :)

Disable Action Center in Windows 7?

Unfortunately that doesn't disable Action Center, all it does it cause Acution Center to bitch about the Security Center service not running.

Action Center seems to be a different beast from Security Center...

And telling it to not display any messages gets it out of the way, the same way disabling the icon in the suggestions above does, but Action Center is still enabled and running.
