Windows 10: Activate Windows Message is showing on my screen now.

My husband ran System Mechanic a couple of days ago on our laptop and it made some changes and now I have an "Activate Windows" pop up on y computer screen. I have tried to reactivate using my Microsoft account but nothing happens it comes up with error code 0xC004F012 and when I run the Troubleshoot it comes up with error 0xc0020036. If I remember correctly we had windows 7 and had the free upgrade to Windows 10. Whatever the Systems Mechanic did it also removed my printer driver from the computer and I can't even get it reinstalled yet it is wireless and working on everyone else's computer in the household.


The computer says it is running Version 1809 (OS Build 17763.437) It even says it is licensed to us...so confused and frustrated. Thanks for any help.

Windows 10 will not activate Error code 0x803F7001


Possibly there can be the problem with Microsoft activation Server, so your Windows 10 is not activated. In this scenario, you need to wait and verify if it is the issue from Microsoft’s side. But if you are getting error code 0x803f7001, you can also try these steps:

1. Open Settings app. Then go to Update and security > Activation screen > Change product.
2. Type your Windows edition product key and click Next.
3. You’ll get We couldn’t activate Windows error message.
4. Retry steps 1-3 then type your 25-characters unique product key.
5. Wait for the process to complete, Windows 10 is activated.
