Windows 10: Activate Windows not working

So I upgraded from my HP laptop with a product key to a desktop NOT HP DESKTOP a few days ago and I have a activate Windows watermark on my desktop.I'm confused because I linked the product key to my Microsoft account.I checked both device on Microsoft account device and the laptop without the activate windows watermark and the desktop with the activate windows watermark have for the OS edition is Windows Core.

Windows activation doesn't work

Hi Michael,

This might be caused by Windows Firewall issues. We'd like to know where you bought the activation code. As an initial troubleshooting step, we suggest turning Windows Firewall On. Follow the steps below:

• Go to Control Panel.
• Click System and Security then Windows Firewall.
  
• Then on the left panel, select Turn Windows Firewall on or off.
  
• Select Turn on Windows Firewall, click OK then restart PC.
