Windows 10: 'Activate Windows' shows up on screen after reset

I recently reset my PC because it was on an infinite loop where I would turn on my PC and it would send me to an error screen. I think I remember that the error was that my windows was damaged or something and I then fixed it by clicking on an option to reset my pc, but keep files. It took a bit of time to reset and to reinstall windows and whatnot and then this error popped up when my PC was usable again. I hope this doesn't mean that I need to buy a copy of Windows 10...

Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it

 

Windows is not activated following "reset this pc"

My latest rebuild was done using:

• Reset this PC.
• Don't keep files.

I now see the conflicting output as show in post #16.

Also I have a watermark on my desktop. Is this normal?

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
