Windows 10: Activating Windows 10 EDU version

    Hello! I bought my laptop a couple of years ago (2013) and it came with windows 8. I have since thrown away/unable to find my laptop box anymore (didn't think I would need it) I just purchased a license with product key from my university that I work at for the windows 10 education version. I finally got windows 10 downloaded and I go into the settings and it says I have the home version installed, so I put in the key that was given to me when I purchased it from the university to upgrade it to the EDU version and it is unable to activate. Do I have to put my windows 8 product key back in for this? What if I don't have it? Is there a way for me to retrieve it?

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Upgrade Windows Home N (digitale activation) to Windows 10 EDU?

    Hi,

    i have an Zotac Computer with an Windows 10 Home N Version.

    I have to ability to Upgrade to Windows 10 Edu through our University Contracts. But if i want to change the Product Number to the Edu License Key, Windows says the key is not valid.

    Are the other possibilities to change the product key? I installed complety new and my computer is immediat activated with the home license. The key comes from our Edu Campus-Contract-Partner.

    Hi, I got a Windows 10 Home version and my university gave me a free Windows 10 Edu version.

    I checked that the Edu version has everything and only Cortana is changed/removed.

    Out of curiosity, if I wanna keep Cortana as it is (together with data, settings and apps), could I?
